Central Boulevard Pump Station Piping Upgrade (W1602)

Project Status: Upcoming
Project Value: $378,357

Description: Twenty one (21) million gallons (MG) of the Town's 25.5 MG of finished water storage is located at the Ground Storage and High Service Pumping Facility on Central Blvd between Jupiter Gardens Blvd and Jupiter Park Drive. Currently an 18: diameter pipe connects the 24" diameter discharge header from the tanks on the west side of Central Blvd. to the 24" transmission main on the east side of Central Blvd. thereby creating a hydraulic restriction and operational inefficiencies in high service pumping. This project will alleviate the hydraulic restriction and restore operational and pumping efficiency by providing an additional connection between the discharge header and the transmission main. Construction of the crossing will be intensive requiring traffic on Central Blvd. to be shifted to accommodate lane closures to facilitate open cutting of the roadway and median for installation of the new 30" pipe. Critical elements of construction will include installation of 24" and 12" temporary line stops, exposing and restraining approximately 560 linear feet (LF) of existing 24" watermain, lowering approximately 30 LF of existing 12" sanitary forcemain, exposing and restraining approximately 60 LF of 12" sanitary forcemain, lowering an existing 4" TECO gas main and a 2" fiber optic cable.

Seminole Avenue Stormwater Basin Improvements (S1606)

Project Status: Upcoming
Project Value:

Description: The Seminole Avenue Stormwater Basin exists in an older part of the Town and the stormwater management system is very limited leading to routine flooding and reduced stormwater runoff treatment. The basin is currently served by a stormwater pump station and detention area which works to cleanse the runoff prior to discharging to the Loxahatchee River. Prior modeling of the watershed indicates that one of the issues in which the stormwater system is deficient relates to its limited water quality treatmetn which in turn limits its permittable discharge rate to the river. Meanwhile, the Town owns the land that encompasses the natural slough that once served as the primary outfall to the basin. The natural slough area has been neglected and is currently choked with exotic vegetation. The proposed project includes two primary components to improve the basin: 1) enlargement of the existing stormwater detention area to encompass part of the land within Old Town Hall Park to further enhance water quality treatment and permittable discharge rates; and 2) hydrologic restoration of the natural slough area and restablishment of the natural flow ways.

Alternate A1A/Damon Bridge Water Transmission Main Replacement and Force Main Installation (W1611A)

Project Status: Upcoming
Project Value: $1,487,616

Description: The existing 20" diameter steel transmission watermain hanging on the west side of the Alternate A1A Bridge (aka Damon Bridge) was constructed in 1976 and has exceeded its 35 year useful life. Sections of the pipe are significantly rusted and deterioration has occurred at the pipe cradle supports. Removal of the rust will most likely result in more damage to the steel pipe. The existing 20" steel watermain will be replaced with a new 12" diameter steel watermain and new pipe supports and bridge hangers will be installed in the current locations to minimize the impact to the bridge structure. In addition, a new 16" sanitary forcemain for the Loxahatchee River District will be constructed on the bridge under this project. The existing 12" diameter watermain handing on the east side of the bridge will remain in place and in service.
