Jupiter’s first handbell choir engaging out-of-school special needs adults starts with a Summer session in which music therapist Julie Bloch will teach tone chimes. This session, developed by special needs parents Donna Maheady and Vicki Silver, will show other families and supporters how playing music can teach hands-on learners teamwork, social interaction and communication skills. Beginning Monday July 16th, two practice sessions a week will be offered at the community center on Mondays from 7pm-8pm and Fridays from 5:15pm-6:15pm. Monday July 23rd, class will be held at The Gardens Branch Library (11303 Campus Drive Palm Beach Gardens FL 33410) and Friday July 27th, class will be held at Old Town Hall (1000 Town Hall Avenue). The program does not provide aides or personal supports. Those who accompany participants will need to actively participate in each practice session.
**Two performances will be held in late August**
