Field Trips

The camp is designed to create an economical, active, safe and fun summer adventure for Jupiter children, ages 5-13. Each age group will have a schedule of activities which may include a variety of team sports and games, arts & crafts, board games, quiet games, guest speakers, cooking projects and field trips. For the 5 year old group, parents can expect their children to be on-site 4 days a week and off-site on a non-optional field trip 1 day. For ages 6-13 parents can expect their children to be on site at the Community Center for 2.5 days and off-site on non-optional field trips for the other 2.5 days.

The registration fee for the camp program does not include the additional costs for various on-site activities or field trips. This is designed so that if your child is absent on a trip day, they are not charged for the activity or trip. Three to five field trips will be taken per week with the exception of the 5 year old group.

On-Site Activities
Campers rotate between the (2) gymnasiums, arts & crafts room, game room, outside play area and field trips. Gym activities can be compared to PE class and are designed to be physically active; campers are required to participate in all scheduled activities.

Off-Site Activities
A schedule will be available prior to the start of summer indicating the fee for the activities. The schedule will provide you with information regarding price. The activity and field trip fees must be paid in cash and paid on the day of the activity/trip. NO CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PAY IN ADVANCE. Exact change is greatly appreciated. All activities included in the field trip cost are indicated on your child’s schedule. You may send your child with additional money for extra activities or food that may not be included.

Children will be issued a wristband prior to departure for any off site trips. This wrist band must be worn at all times whenever campers are away from the Community Center. It is up to the child to leave the wrist band on. Parents should also note any special dress requirements. All children who are in attendance for the day and have a scheduled field trip will be expected to attend and participate in the trip. Children will not have the option to stay at the Community Center if they do not want to participate or if they are dropped off late.

All attempts will be made to adhere to the schedule; however, changes may occur in order to accommodate any late field trips as well as weather issues or other issues beyond our control. You will be notified of schedule changes by either a letter or a phone call.
