Association Officer and Director Certification

This is an Association Officer and Director Certification course for Town of Jupiter residents. This is an official certification program that can fulfill the State of Florida requirements associated with the Homeowners’ Association Act and the Condominium Act, which require officers and directors to complete a certification. This program is for current or future association volunteers, or those who simply seek a better understanding of how their condominium or homeowners’ association should operate. 

The program is run by Mr. Michael Gelfand, a Florida Bar Board Certified Real Estate Lawyer and senior partner of Gelfand & Arpe, who specializes in community association law. For nearly three decades Mr. Gelfand's practice has dealt with Florida community association law in Palm Beach County Courts, including matters affecting condominium, homeowners, property owners and country club communities.

Participants will receive valuable information regarding how associations are regulated and governed. The presentation will include practical tips on legal requirements for budgeting, reserves, elections, financial reporting, general operations, records maintenance, and dispute resolution.
