Palm Beach County Construction Coordination’s contractor (Community Asphalt) began reconstruction of Toney Penna Drive & Old Dixie Hwy intersection area Spring of 2017. The project completion date is tentatively set for Feb. 16, 2018; weather permitting.
August 8, 2017 UPDATE:
Community Asphalt will be doing night work from 8/8/17 - 8/10/17 from 7p - 7a. The southbound lane of Old Dixie will be closed, as well as, the eastbound lane of Toney Penna. As always, residents are encouraged to use caution when commuting in these areas.
The project involves Old Dixie from 8th Street to about 500 feet south of Toney Penna Drive, and Toney Penna from Alternate A1A to Orange Avenue. Project involves roadway widening on Toney Penna Drive, sidewalk construction across FEC, new traffic signal, directional medians, elevation changes to intersection, drainage work, utility relocation, and other related improvements. The work will have a significant impact on traffic thru this intersection, particularly at certain phases of the work. The work will also impact businesses in the immediate area, particularly at the SW corner of the intersection, due to grade changes, utility relocation work, and new drainage system installation. If anyone has any questions or concerns regarding this project please contact Palm Beach County Construction Coordination at 561-684-4180.
