"FUN" Facts from the Archives | | | Click icon to view slide show | | | | Research in the Town records shows there have been 22 elected Mayors and 95 elected Commissioners/Councilors since the Town’s incorporation in 1925. The history of these people and the issues they faced while in office is always interesting and in many cases fascinating. Jupiter was a much smaller town in the “old days”, so the list of elected officials is full of the names of Jupiter’s early pioneers: Sims, (as in creek!) Dubois, (as in park!) Gladwin, Bassett (contractors). These citizens in many cases owned or managed businesses in the Town ranging from retail to agricultural.
