  1. Jr. Angler Fishing Tournament

    June 2, 2018, 8:00 AM - July 14, 2018, 12:00 AM @ Loxahatchee River Center

    The Loxahatchee River District’s River Center, in partnership with Fishing Headquarters, is delighted to announce the 5th Annual Jr. Angler Fishing Tournament. Due to its high popularity last year with over 50 anglers, participation for this year’s tournament is expected to grow. Interested anglers should mark their calendars and set their reels for Saturday, June 2nd when the contest officially opens. Registration is open May 11th and throughout the entire tournament. The tournament is open to anyone between the ages of 5 and 17, but registration is required before submitted photographs can be awarded points. A registration fee of $25 per angler includes a t-shirt and an invitation to the “End of Summer” Fish Fry where the winners will be announced and prizes awarded on Friday, July 20th at 6:00 PM.

  2. Boating Safely Class

    June 16, 2018, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM @ Loxahatchee River Center

    The River Center continues to collaborate with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary “Flotilla 52” to provide a series of Boating Safely Classes targeted specifically to young boaters in our community. These classes are provided through a generous sponsorship by the AustinBlu Foundation, a not-for-profit dedicated to raising awareness and promoting educational programs to improve boater safety. There is no cost for this class, however there is a deposit required to reserve a seat. The deposit of $10 will be refunded in full to all students who complete the class. Recommended for children 12 years and up.

  3. Estuary Exploration: Seine and Dip Netting

    June 16, 2018, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Loxahatchee River Center

    Join the River Center in a day of estuary exploration at our Family Seine and Dip Netting Experience! Activities will include exploring our local waterways through dip netting, seining and of course, snorkeling! Participants are welcome to bring snorkeling gear or goggles, but not required. Please make sure to bring sunscreen, water shoes, and plenty of water! Please RSVP to attend!

  4. Public Fish Feeding

    June 16, 2018, 2:00 PM - 2:30 PM @ Loxahatchee River Center

    Join us every Saturday at 2:00 PM for a FREE public tour of the aquariums. The River Center's staff provides information on each of the exhibits, and guests have the opportunity to see the fish in action during feeding time!
