The primary function of the business registration is to register business physically located or doing business within the Town of Jupiter (Town) corporate limits. Business registration is a tax receipt which is required of all business located in the Town . The Chamber is a not-for-profit organization with over 1300 business members. It has evolved into a "knowledge broker," connecting businesses with prospective clients through an elaborate referral program. The State of Florida Office of Small Business Advocate was created by Florida Chapter 2008-149, HB 7109, to serve as the principal advocate for small businesses in Florida. In line with this charge and the other duties assigned to the OSBA by the legislation, the OSBA is reaching out to small businesses in the state through a series of Small Business Issues Forums to discover the concerns of small business owners in the current economic situation and to explore solutions that may be implemented on a state level to aid in small business success.
