Bike and Pedestrian Safety

Welcome to the Jupiter Police Department’s Bike and Pedestrian Safety page.

For the eighth year in a row, the Jupiter Police Department is participating in the Pedestrian and Bike Safety High Visibility Enforcement campaign.  JPD is committed to providing education and awareness to pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists, so we can ensure the safety of everyone who utilizes our roadways.  This contract funded campaign through the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Institute of Police Technology Management (IPTM), and the University of North Florida is scheduled through May 2023.

In addition to this enforcement campaign, below you will find updates on bike and pedestrian safety efforts, as well as helpful resources to keep you and your family safe when enjoying the outdoors in our beautiful Town.

Educational Programs

We offer a number of bike and pedestrian safety programs that can be brought to your location or classroom, or conducted at the Jupiter Police Department.

  • Bike & Pedestrian Safety Educational Classes - These beneficial classes are offered in English and Spanish.
  • Helmet Fitting Program - This program teaches children how to properly fit a helmet and provides free bicycle helmets to those in need.  Advance planning is required to secure free helmets.
