Through the study of Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate, learn and develop: Confidence, Reaction Training, Fitness and Weight control, and flexibility. Instructors: Kevin Fruge’ (2nd degree black belt), Howard Freedland (2nd degree black belt)

Date: Saturday, January 28, 2023 Time: 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Cost: $20/girl JUNIORS & CADETTES. Wildlife is all around us, you just have to start looking. All girls will learn about wild animals, special and endangered habitats, focusing on Florida wildlife. Girls will investigate and explore local habitats through the River Center’s exhibits and aquariums. Finally, girls will help protect animal’s habitats and put their skills to the test by creating animal houses. Each participant will leave the workshop with an animal box that they created and decorated themselves to help make their backyard and community more animal friendly. By being good woodworkers and advocates for wild animals, we can all help make the world a better place. Junior girls – Animal Habitats Badge Cadettes – Woodworker badge.

Do you have a passion for the environment? Do you enjoy interacting and educating the public? The River Center is looking for enthusiastic and personable volunteers to join our River Center team! Individuals 14+ are invited to attend the next Intro to Volunteering workshop from 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM.

Join us every Saturday at 2:00 pm for a FREE public tour of the aquariums. River Center staff provide information on each of the exhibits, and guests have the opportunity to see the fish in action during feeding time!
