Inlet Village Projects Map 2024

1. U.S. Highway 1 Drawbridge Replacement:

The U.S. 1 Bridge over the Loxahatchee River and Intracoastal Waterway was closed starting Monday, March 13, 2023 as part of the Florida Department of Transportation's bridge replacement project. FDOT spent the 15 months prior to the closure preparing by improving intersections along the detour route. The bridge closure will last approximately 20 months, or until late 2024, at which point, a new bridge with an additional 17 feet of clearance in height and 35 feet of distance for boat passage will open to vehicular traffic.

The replacement bridge will consist of two 11-foot travel lanes in each direction, 8-foot sidewalks and 7-foot bike lanes in both directions. Pedestrians will be separated from traffic with permanent concrete barriers. The new bridge will be a twin double-leaf drawbridge, feature a concrete bridge deck to reduce traffic noise, a new tender house and pedestrian overlooks.

2. Sperry property (961 N. A1A):

Applications for a Certificate to Dig, and other development applications were submitted to the Town in 2021 for a mixed-use development consisting of 67 residential condominiums, five residential townhouses, a 125 room hotel, a restaurant, and commercial retail use on 10.4 +/- acres.  The Town Council found that the Celestial Railway right of way, terminus, and view corridor to the Jupiter River, and the shell midden, which together comprise slightly more than four acres, must be preserved and protected from development. A Certificate to Dig was issued for the remaining portion of the property on July 25, 2023. The Town and the property owner have entered into negotiations related to the future of the property. The other applications are currently on hold. No further public hearing dates have been set at this time.

3. U-tiki (Jupiter Inlet Marina):

Site plan amendment to convert existing sand-outdoor dining to a 814 sf covered outdoor dining/bar structure and add two additional covered structures over existing seating areas. The application received administrative approval on December 8, 2023.

4. Jupiter Oxbow (west side of A1A between Saturn and Parkway Street):

A mixed use development was approved for the 0.7 acre property, on January 15, 2019. The project has received several development order extensions, but remains unbuilt. The project will include seven multi-family residential units and 3,695 sf of commercial fronting on A1A, and features a publicly accessible archeological/historic plaza and preservation of most of the mature oak trees on the site.

5. Kempe Property (northeast corner of A1A and Parkway Street):

Phase 2 is a mixed use project that will add office/retail, restaurant, and six residential units to the existing commercial office development (Phase 1). Phase 2 was approved in 2014 and received several development order extensions, but remains unbuilt.

6. AIA and Jupiter Beach Road Roundabout:

The first phase of the A1A and Jupiter Beach Rd Roundabout construction project to covert the existing T intersection to a roundabout is nearing completion and will soon transition to the second phase, pending the contractor's acquisition of the maintenance of traffic permit from the County. Resolutions have been reached regarding underground utility conflicts and their associated design issues. The contractor is awaiting the delivery of revised structures to finalize phase one construction.
