Lightning Prediction System
The Thor Guard lightning prediction systems at Jupiter Community Park, Abacoa Community Park, Lighthouse Park, Maplewood Park and Jupiter Village Park will notify park users when lightning is predicted to impact the area of the park. Once activated, the system will sound one 15 second horn blast and show flashing strobe lights to indicate that all activities are suspended. Activities may resume once three 5 second horn blasts are heard and the strobe lights stop flashing.
- One 15 second horn blast means all activities are suspended and shelter should be sought out immediately.
- Three 5 second horn blasts mean activities may be resumed if field and playing conditions are safe.
